About this tracker
A hosepipe ban is officially called a Temporary Use Ban (TUB), declared by a water company under Section 76 of the Water Industry Act 1991. Councils and central government have no power to declare one — only your water supplier does, and it applies only within that supplier's own area.
Because supply areas cross county boundaries, this map gives a county-level approximation, not a precise legal boundary. If you're near the edge of a shaded county, or unsure who supplies you, check your water bill or your supplier's own postcode checker before assuming a ban does or doesn't apply to you.
